Hello we are in Te Aroha, Waikato. We milk 300 cows mainly Holsteins in a 30 a side Herringbone. Calvings are quick and easy here. We calf 3 times a year, 25 days at a time and we produced 9,800 litres and 778 milk solids a cow last season. We really like to look after our cows here, and feeding them well is top priority. We have Inshed feeding and a Feedpad. We are looking for someone with previous farming experience, someone who has good stockmanship and is keen to learn and enjoy how we farm here. There is also plenty of variety here from tractor driving, fencing, milking, all youngstock on farm and learning high input system and feeding cows. We have a 2 bedroom house available and offer good pay and time off. We also show cows and are very much into our breeding. We make our own silage, hay and maize on farm and we also have all youngstock on farm as well as some beef stock. Start date negotiable. This is a permanent full-time role supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy dairy farm with approximately 400 peak cows. The successful applicant will work as part of a team and assist with general dairy farming duties to maintain efficient farm operations and animal welfare standards. **Key Responsibilities** The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Milking cows and maintaining milking hygiene standards - Assisting with feeding and supplement distribution - Setting up and shifting break fences - Monitoring animal health and reporting any illness or injury promptly - Checking and maintaining water troughs and farm infrastructure - Weed spraying and grubbing - Assisting with effluent management - Moving and operating sprinklers and irrigation equipment - Operating 2-wheelers and quad bikes safely - General farm maintenance and cleaning duties - Assisting the Farm Manager with daily farm operations **Requirements** To be considered for this role, applicants should: - Be physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work - Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic - Be honest, reliable, and able to work within a team environment - Have good communication skills - Be confident riding 2-wheelers and quad bikes - Be willing to undergo random drug testing under the farm’s drug-free workplace policy Previous dairy farming experience of at least 1 year is mandatory, required training may be provided to suitable candidates. **Accommodation** Shared three-bedroom accommodation may be available on-site, subject to availability. Conveniently located between Morrinsville and Hamilton, this position offers 30–40 hours per week across four days, with some flexibility around how those hours are worked. The operation includes a 100-hectare dairy farm milking 320 crossbred cows through a 26-bale rotary with in-shed feeder, supported by a 66-hectare run-off used for grazing, dairy beef, maize, and grass silage production. The farm is well set up with a covered feed pad, reticulated bore water system, and strong infrastructure to support efficient day-to-day operations. Working across both the dairy platform and run-off, you will assist with a range of farm duties, including: - Milking and shed routines - Calf rearing and young stock care - Feeding out and feed management support - Moving stock across the dairy farm and run-off - Fencing and general farm maintenance - General day-to-day farm tasks as required You will work alongside a supportive team and be involved in a variety of day-to-day farm activities across both the dairy platform and run-off.
