About the Role The successful applicant will bring several years of management and/or contract milking experience. With the introduction of Halter Collars, the plan is to increase numbers to 390 cows while improving pasture utilisation. The successful applicant must have the skills to adapt to new technologies. Hi there, We are looking for a farm assistant to join our team at Spring Grove in the friendly district of Eketahuna. Spring Grove is located approx. 10 minutes' drive from Eketahuna, where a school, store and most essential services are located. The farm milks 430 kiwi cross cows on a twice a day system. It winters the majority of its cows on farm, with replacements raised on a separate block. The position will involve usual dairy farm tasks such as milking, farm maintenance, feeding out and shifting stock. The successful applicant will ideally have approximately two years relevant experience and be: - Honest and reliable - Physically fit - Have good communication skills - Be able to pass a drugs test - Be eligible to work in NZ - Hold a NZ driver's license The successful applicant would ideally also be competent in operating both motorbikes and tractors, however those with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply. The applicant will be well supported by both the farm manager / owner and will be given the opportunity to progress their career within the industry through both skills development and the opportunity to attend training courses.
