We are needing an assistant manager for our new farming role between Te Awamutu and Otorohanga. The farm is 195 hectares, 590 Jersey cows, A2 milk. The farm is rolling to steep terrain with a strong focus on managing the grass with the cows. The cowshed is a 44 aside herringbone with ACRs on the back 20 sets and meal feeding. Good staff room. The owners have been on farm for 30 years and it has grown over time, with two underpasses and good farm races. We are taking on the farm as contract milkers with high targets, with the tools and skill set to achieve. We need a competent Assistant manager to work with us, with the same ambition for farm success. Applicant needs to be proficient in all matters of dairy farming, including but not limited to: - Milking cows in a herringbone cowshed, good with numbers. - Identifying, preventing and treating mastitis, lameness, milk fever, and typical dairy cow ailments in New Zealand dairy farming systems. Safe handling, fetching and following skills. - Good at identifying calved and calving cows, and identifying on-heat cows for mating. - Calf handling and management. - Measuring grass with a plate meter, accurately setting up temporary fences on rolling terrain. - Safe movement and setup of effluent spreading equipment, travelling irrigator. - Maintenance of stock water, repair of water pipes and ballcocks. - Operation of tractors, feed wagon feeding out maize and grass silage, operation of bale feeder on rolling terrain. - Competency on motorbikes both 2 and 4-wheelers, towing trailers and spreaders. - Health and safety active, helmet wearing, PPE and safety conscious. - Ability and prepared to teach skills to assistants and relief staff. - Ability to run the farm in absence of employer. - Strong communication skills. We have taken on a second job and are still managing the farm we have been on for 5 years. We seek an experienced 2IC or current Farm Manager to join our team in Whakamaru on 1 June 2026. You must have a minimum of five years of New Zealand dairy farming experience, and be able to provide at least two recent employment references. As the farm owners live on the farm, this vacant role has flexibility - it could suit a 2IC or a trainee Manager or an established Farm Manager. The salary package will reflect this and also includes a nice 3 bedroom house, and a roster of 5 days on and two days off (Fridays and Saturdays) right through the season. Our farm has 700 Friesian X cows through a 50 ASHB shed with ACRs and in-shed feeding, auto teat spray and Protrack. Spring calving, system 3, usually TAD until Feb then OAD until mid-May. We are looking for a reliable milk harvester for the start of calving to the end of mating (1/8/26 - 31/12/26) to assist the contract milker during the peak season. The opportunity to go onto a casual contract after the fixed term is available to the right person. We are located 5 mins from Eltham and 10 mins from Stratford. We can offer variable hours with a minimum of 30 hours a fortnight at a minimum of $30 per hour. Higher hourly rate can be negotiated on experience. We will be milking 375 Friesian cows at peak through a 44 bail rotary with in shed feed. Key responsibilities include: - Efficiently harvesting milk - Keeping shed clean - Identifying cows with health issues - Handling stock calmly. Prior experience is preferred. Reliable transport to and from farm is necessary.

We are seeking an experienced, honest, reliable and trustworthy person who has a passion for the dairy industry with proven animal health, tractor and general on farm experience to join us on a 450 cow 200ha farm near Reefton. Milking through a 50bail rotary with inShed feed and ACR'S. Having a partner keen to do Calf rearing and relief milking would be an advantage. Applicant must have a minimum of two years NZ dairy experience and hold a NZ Drivers license as travel to nearby runoff over winter is essential. The Farm Located on the South side of the Rangitata river, the farm is 15min to Temuka, 30 min to Timaru or Ashburton. With a local kindergarten only 5 min away and good local rural schooling available – Winchester Rural. The farm has 670 cows and boasts a 36 ASHB shed with Protrack and auto drafting, Auto teat spray, New silos and snapchill glycol chilling, Yard wash, Top and bottom gates, Ai Races, Side yards with lame crushes, In Shed feeding. Irrigation across the farm consists of Rotoraieners, K lines, Standard and Lateral Pivots with VRI where needed. Water sources are mainly bore pumped with some river access when not on restrictions. The dairy shed is centrally located on the farms with short walks (20-30min). Calf sheds are a 7 bay heifer shed with adjacent 3 bay bobby calf shed and loading ramp, located opposite the dairy shed for easy milk access. The property milks 700 cows on 180ha under full pivot irrigation with modern and reliable infrastructure. The farm has well established systems and offers a supportive environment for someone wanting to grow in the industry. Siberia Farm is part of our 470ha family run operation in Mid Canterbury. You will work closely with the Farm Unit Manager and the Farm Assistant in the team of 3 on Siberia, and sometimes also as part of the larger farm team. Cows are equipped with Allflex collars to support heat detection, animal health monitoring and overall herd management. Milking is through a modern 60-bale rotary fitted with ACR, auto wash, teatwand, Dataflow, and in shed feeding for grain and blend feeds. We are looking for someone with solid dairy experience who is ready for more responsibility and committed to progressing their career. You will need to have a minimum of 2 years NZ dairy experience. Remuneration will be based on experience. Hours would be approx. 45/wk. We are seeking an experienced person to join our team for the 2026-2027 season. This role could be suitable for a herd manager looking to progress in the industry or an already accomplished 2IC looking to further their skills in the industry. You will need to be already residing in NZ and be a resident. The farm is well-equipped with modern infrastructure, cow shed is positioned in the middle with 2 herds. Milfos- 60 bail milking shed with ACR, automatic teat spray, protract drafting system and Alflex collars. This is a high input system with a feed pad on farm. We have pivots and fixed grid irrigation in the corners with a few sprinkles. You will need to be able to show the following: - Able to demonstrate good pasture management and feed allocation, with feed supplement calculations and feed breaks done correctly. - Be comfortable to drive a tractor and mixer wagon. - A good understanding of shed, hinging management and maintain good practice in the shed at all times. - Have a strong passion for cows, animal health management and prevention. - Able to follow and demonstrate good health and safety practice at all times. - Need to be able to communicate effectively to management and have good direction and delegation to junior staff members.
