Bluff Station is looking for a beekeeper to join our team at Kēkerengū, on the Marlborough coast. We run approximately 800 hives alongside our sheep and cattle operation and are looking for someone who wants a role and to become part of our team.
The beekeeping work includes hive inspections, feeding, disease and varroa management and honey harvest. All sites on farm are permanent so we very seldom shift hives, you’ll travel to apiary sites across a large property and work outdoors in changing conditions.
During the quieter beekeeping months, there may be opportunities to help with fencing, stock work, weed and pest control, or machinery operation, depending on your skills and interests. We’d love to hear what else you could bring to the wider farm team if that is what you want to do.
We’d ideally like someone with practical beekeeping experience who can work confidently with hives, spot problems early and keep good records. You’ll need to be reliable, physically capable, comfortable working both independently and with others, and hold a current driver licence.
This can be a permanent, full-time position, with accommodation available. Pay will reflect experience.
To apply, please send your CV and a short note about your beekeeping and other practical skills through Trade Me Jobs.
