About you,
As the Manager you will have excellent communication skills, not only with the team but also with the farm owners. You will also need to have a great team attitude and be able to manage the team efficiently. Your management experience will have been gained within the NZ dairy industry from people that strive for top performance. The successful applicant will need to have excellent pasture management skills getting the best out of every grazing. The aim is to fully feed cows to capacity using your knowledge of stock grazing management.
About the role,
As the Manager you will be hands on, in the milking roster and keeping your finger on the pulse of all daily operations. Organizing your team daily as well as cow health and feeding will be your biggest priorities. Also pasture management, farm operations, repairs and general farm tasks will be part of your role. Delivering regular reports will be a requirement.
Siberia Farm is 180ha fully pivot irrigated, operated by 3 fulltime staff, milking 700 Friesian cross cows with production of 550ms/cow, STD SCC 49. Milking in a modern 60bale rotary with all the extras including Allflex collars. We also have a sister farm (the same but different) 2km away milking 800 cows. Both farms winter together on a neighbour’s property grazing Fodder Beet and Kale.
