This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work and wants to grow their skills and responsibility over time. This role is one that has potential to transfer to a Contract Milking role as the Owners wish to step back within the next 1-2 years. You'll be involved in all day-to-day dairy operations, with good systems, support and opportunities to upskill for the right person. We are looking for a dependable Dairy Farm Assistant to join our Taranaki-based operation, located just 10 minutes from Inglewood. The role begins in June or July 2026 (start date flexible to suit the successful applicant). Our farm milks approximately 320 cows through a 40‑aside herringbone shed with in‑shed feeding. You’ll work alongside the farm owner and support the day‑to‑day running of the farm. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: · Milking and maintaining high hygiene standards · Setting break fences and moving stock · Young stock management · Weed control · Calf rearing · Tractor operation · General repairs and maintenance of fencing and water systems The ideal candidate will have: · Holds a restricted or full driver’s licence · Is physically fit and capable of lifting heavy loads · Can work weekends and early mornings · Currently lives in New Zealand and is eligible to work here (we are not AEWV-accredited) · Is reliable, motivated, and eager to learn · Has genuine care for animal health and welfare · Communicates well · Has a clean criminal record and can pass a pre‑employment drug test · Maintains a clean and tidy home and work environment · Is open to on‑the‑job training — we’re happy to teach the right person What’s on Offer · Accommodation: 2-bedroom cottage available · Flexible contract arrangements for the right candidate. *PART-TIME FARM WORKER REQUIRED - JULY TO SEPT & MARCH TO MAY* Drive-in position (15 minutes from New Plymouth - farm is by the Airport) 290 cows Split calving - 200 in autumn & 100 in spring System 4 - maize & silage grown on farm, PK bought in Needing someone from July - Sept & March - May (about 6 months of calving but there can potentially be more work throughout the season) 4-5 hours in the morning, wrapping up by 9/9:30am (this is flexible for the right person) Pay is negotiable $25 - $35+ per hour depending on farming experience and distance travelled Opportunity for more hours/relief milking work for the right person! You'll be working alongside me and occasionally my partner will tag along. Both of us are team-players, passionate about the industry and enjoy having a laugh. The ideal person would be someone who's had some experience in the industry, who has moved to town and is looking for a bit of casual farm work without the pressure of decision making. We are seeking a keen and motivated person to manage our 132ha, 360 cow dairy farm. The farm is mainly flat with some rolling hills. It is a low system, low stress operation. The successful applicant would be responsible not just for the milk harvesting, pasture management, weed control but also the day to day management of a staff member. The 3 bedroom home on the farm is 5 minutes from the local township with a primary school and childcare centre. It is 20 minutes from Dannevirke. We are open to tailoring the position to suit the right person.

Milking 550 cows split calving. Milk harvesting. Manage mating, calving, and young stock requirement. Ensure animal welfare standards are followed at all times. Skills: 2IC qualifications would be beneficial and must be able to pass a pre-employment, random drug testing and a police check. Safely know how to drive a tractor and use quad bike. We are seeking a keen enthusiastic Farm Assistant to join our team. Duties include milking, day work such as putting up break fences, spraying. We have a tidy farm located on the township boundary with approximately 420 cows, a 44 a/s h/b shed with Inshed feed and cup removers, and a travelling irrigator. Ideally, candidates should have a minimum of 1 year's experience. Tractor work is minimal and not essential to know how to drive one. We autumn calve (mid March - end of April) and dry off in the summer, requiring extra hands during calving and AB. Must be a team player and have an idea about technology, as we use it for timesheets, Health & Safety, and on-farm learning. Due to our current farm manager wanting to have a change in his farming role, and our current 2ic getting another Managers role for next season, we are on the lookout for a motivated person who is keen to take the next step in the Dairy Industry. We are after a well rounded person that is after a dairy farm managers position in North Otago. We milk 1100 cows and have a split calving of 900 spring, and 200 autumn calvers. We milk all year and have acquired a feed pad to do this. We will winter cows on farm and we have an adjacent runoff where we run all our young stock. We have a 320ha platform that is irrigated via spray irrigation (Pivots, Fixed Grid, Kline). Cows are milked through a 60 bail Waikato Rotary cowshed. Its equipped with cup removers, Protrack and inshed feeding. We have used Allflex collars on our cows for 9 seasons and are looking into other options of wearables currently. The successful applicant would run the day to day management of the dairy platform. Cows, Grass, feeding, people and harvesting the milk in an efficient way. We would offer support through the farm owner and current manager working alongside the applicant to find their feet and to learn our system. Due to our current Farm management people heading to new opportunities, we are looking for a capable person with experience in the dairy industry to help manage our 1100 cow Dairy Farm at Ngapara North Otago. This position would involve running the day to day system on the dairy farm, grass, cows, staff. 900 cows calved in spring and 200 in autumn. Milk all year round. Strengths needed for this role is a good understanding of pasture management, animal husbandry, staff management, irrigation and an ability to problem solve. A great attitude and good communication is also a must. The role would allow the opportunity for growth and development of your skills, while enhancing the skills you already have. We use a lot of technology to run farm, so need the applicant to have the skills to use it (Allflex collars, Protrack, irrigation technology etc).
