Assist twice daily with milking, shed hygiene and set up. Fencing, weed eradication, cropping, feeding stock, identifying and treating animal health issues, health and safety requirements, calving, calf rearing, machinery operations including motorbikes and tractors, farm maintenance and all other general farm duties which includes but is not limited to fixing water leaks, shifting the effluent spreader and shifting stock. On occasion you will be required to supervise relief milkers and complete daily operations on the farm in the absence of your manager. Which you would be expected to follow farm protocols.

About the farm, We will be milking 350-400 cows this season, through a 30ASHB with automatic cup removers. Brand new undercover feedpad and smart shelter that all of our cows calve in. Location: Ruawai Flats We are looking for an Assistant Calf Rearer / Farm Assistant. Someone to help rear calves during the spring. Assist with the day to day running of the farm e.g milking, break fences, basic tractor work, shifting irrigator. Working alongside contract milkers and farm assistant, about 25-40 hours per fortnight. Experience not necessary. You must be willing to learn and reliability is a must.
