Relief Milker / Fixed-Term Farm Assistant Location: Eltham, Taranaki Please note: This is a DRIVE IN role. Please do not apply if you are requiring accommodation. We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team of three on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave on our dairy farm located just outside Eltham, Taranaki. This is a drive-in, live-out position, working alongside the Contract Milker and 2IC. The farm milks approximately 500 MA cows through a 50-bail rotary with an in-shed feeding system and operates as a System 3 farm. Hours & Roster: • Full-time hours over calving (generally a 6-and-1 roster over spring) • Dropping to a minimum of 20 hours per week for the remainder of the season to fill the roster (currently 8-2, 8-3) and to cover staff annual and sick leave. Drive in relief milker required, located near Waianiwa (approx. 20mins from Invercargill, 20mins from Winton). Approx. 3-4 Milking’s a week at this stage. Flexible with days/dates. Approx. 280 cows in older 24 aside herringbone shed. Cups on approx. 7AM & 5PM, but flexible. Cows generally close to shed & fences all set up. Must have milking experience and be able to work sole charge. Must be able to ride a quad. Roughly 3hrs in morning & 2 1/2 hours in afternoons.

*PART-TIME FARM WORKER REQUIRED - JULY TO SEPT & MARCH TO MAY* Drive-in position (15 minutes from New Plymouth - farm is by the Airport) 290 cows Split calving - 200 in autumn & 100 in spring System 4 - maize & silage grown on farm, PK bought in Needing someone from July - Sept & March - May (about 6 months of calving but there can potentially be more work throughout the season) 4-5 hours in the morning, wrapping up by 9/9:30am (this is flexible for the right person) Pay is negotiable $25 - $35+ per hour depending on farming experience and distance travelled Opportunity for more hours/relief milking work for the right person! The ideal person would be someone who's had some experience in the industry, who has moved to town and is looking for a bit of casual farm work without the pressure of decision making. Calf Rearer – Casual (Drive-In) Motuiti Farms – Foxton We are seeking a motivated and reliable Calf Rearer to join our team for the coming calving season (July to August / early September). This is a casual, drive-in position, located 5 minutes from Foxton township. About the Farm Motuiti Farms is a well-established, 10-year-old dairy farm with excellent calf-rearing infrastructure, including a 12-bay calf rearing shed located beside the milking shed. **Job Description** Autumn Calving Farm - We need an extra hand over our busy Calving-Mating season. Starting Early March and finishing late August (7 months). We have 480 Friesian cows to calve from 10 March- 20 May over 12 weeks. We are setting up a new automated calf feeding shed - which is still work in progress. The position will involve: - The whole calf rearing process from assisting collecting calves from paddock. - Feeding Colostrum for first 4-5 days. - Transitioning calves onto the autofeeders. - Mixing Milk powder (which requires lifting 25 kg bags). - Cleaning and washing down calf feeding area daily. - Feeding Meal and Straw to calves (25 kg meal bags). - Feeding calves in paddock, shifting calves to other paddocks. - Assist with Milking when other staff have days off. - Assist with post Milking Clean up. - Assist with other general farm duties when other staff have days off. You will need to have experience working on a dairy farm and completed a calving season (our Peak busy period will be 15 March -15 June). We are seeking a keen and motivated person to manage our 132ha, 360 cow dairy farm. The farm is mainly flat with some rolling hills. It is a low system, low stress operation. The successful applicant would be responsible not just for the milk harvesting, pasture management, weed control but also the day to day management of a staff member. The 3 bedroom home on the farm is 5 minutes from the local township with a primary school and childcare centre. It is 20 minutes from Dannevirke. We are open to tailoring the position to suit the right person.

We are seeking an experienced milker & farmhand to assist with general farm duties and milking a 400 cow Friesian herd, in a 42 bale rotary milking shed with automatic cup removers. This is a full time position, and the roster is 12 days on, 2 days off (i.e every second weekend off). Morning milkings are usually between 4:30-7:30am and afternoons are usually between 2:00 – 4:30pm. Other farm duties you may be involved with will include general farm duties e.g: · Shifting cows & feeding · Fencing, weed control · Shed cleaning and set up · Identifying and alerting other staff/vet about sick animals You will be required to ride a quad bike, and drive the tractor. The farm contour is completely flat with well laid out paddocks, central races and all paddocks are irrigated to troughs. You must be able to work as part of a team and/or sole charge. There are 2 other full time workers (the farm manager and the farm owner). We are looking for an honest, hard working, experienced and reliable team player. We have a small, relaxed, flexible, family friendly team, with a drug free policy in our work place. There may be a possibility for on farm accommodation to be provided. We are situated in Longburn, 10 minutes from Palmerston north, so handy for town. Salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependant on skills and experience (competitive and fair remuneration package offered).
