There is an ongoing requirement for relief staff to cover for regular employee time off. The farms are well maintained with good terrain and infrastructure and well located. The person needs to be someone with good stockmanship and someone who enjoys working with animals. We are seeking someone who works well in a team. Assist twice daily with milking, shed hygiene and set up. Fencing, weed eradication, cropping, feeding stock, identifying and treating animal health issues, health and safety requirements, calving, calf rearing, machinery operations including motorbikes and tractors, farm maintenance and all other general farm duties which includes but is not limited to fixing water leaks, shifting the effluent spreader and shifting stock. On occasion you will be required to supervise relief milkers and complete daily operations on the farm in the absence of your manager. Which you would be expected to follow farm protocols.

Assist with the day to day running of the farm e.g milking, break fences, basic tractor work, shifting irrigator. We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Manager to lead a team of three staff members. This role requires someone with strong time management skills, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine passion for livestock and farming operations. The successful candidate will be someone who is driven, energetic, and interested in progressing their career. Our operation is an 800-cow autumn calving farm, equipped with a herd home, mixer wagon, and a 60-bail rotary shed with ACRs and in-shed drafting technology. We operate a 6-on, 2-off roster for six months of the year, and a 9-on, 3-off roster for the remaining six months. Key requirements for this role include: - Strong leadership and team management skills - Competence with farm machinery - Good computer literacy, including the ability to complete fortnightly reports - Experience using Herd Manager (in-shed drafting system) or similar technology You will work closely with the farm owner, who will provide support through regular farm walks and assist with feed budgeting. Senior Farm Assistant/2ic position available working alongside farm owners and one other staff member. 300 spring calving cows. 100 Autumn calving cows. TAD. 36 ASHB. System 4 with silage, maize and PKE. The applicant must be self-motivated, reliable and honest person to help with general farm duties and milking cows. Have at least 3 years NZ experience. Keen to progress. Have basic knowledge and understanding of farm duties, milking, animal health, effluent management, and calf rearing. Must have basic tractor experience.
