**About the role**
We are looking for a reliable, practical and people-focused person to join our RSE team in a support role.
Reporting to the RSE Manager, you will help maintain accommodation and grounds across multiple sites, provide practical and pastoral care support to our Pacific Island workers, and assist with the day-to-day running of our RSE programme.
This is a varied, hands-on role that changes throughout the year. During the busier seasons, the focus is on worker support, transport and arrival and departure logistics. During the quieter winter months, the role is heavily focused on cleaning, maintenance and preparing accommodation for the next intake of workers. We are looking for someone comfortable with this seasonal variation who takes pride in their work and enjoys supporting others.
**Key responsibilities**
Accommodation and maintenance
· Maintain accommodation and grounds across multiple sites, including weekly cleaning of shared areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and communal spaces.
· Carry out routine property checks, minor repairs and general grounds maintenance.
· Complete deeper cleaning and maintenance during winter to ensure accommodation is clean, safe and ready for incoming workers.
· Encourage workers to maintain their own living spaces and take responsibility for accommodation standards.
**Pastoral care and worker support**
· Provide practical support to RSE workers, including transport and assistance with medical appointments such as doctors, dentists and physiotherapists.
· Encourage workers to look after their health, wellbeing and general responsibilities.
· Identify and report worker welfare concerns to the RSE Manager.
**Administration and logistics**
· Assist with worker onboarding, arrival and departure paperwork, flight logistics and transport arrangements.
· Help monitor the cleanliness, condition and safe use of company vehicles.
**General support**
· Work closely with the RSE Manager and wider team to support the smooth running of the RSE programme.
· Be available for occasional on-call support for emergencies involving workers or accommodation outside normal working hours.
**About you**
You will be someone who
· Is practical, reliable and confident with general cleaning, property and grounds maintenance.
· Enjoys working with people from different cultural backgrounds and communicates respectfully.
· Is organised, adaptable and comfortable working across multiple sites and changing seasonal priorities.
· Can build positive relationships while encouraging others to take responsibility.
· Holds a current, full New Zealand driver licence.
Previous experience in property maintenance, pastoral care, horticulture or working with seasonal or migrant workers would be an advantage.
**What we offer**
· A varied, hands-on role with a mix of practical work and people support.
· The opportunity to make a positive difference to the experience and wellbeing of our RSE workers.
· A supportive team environment, working closely with the RSE Manager.
If you feel yourself thriving in this role, we would love to hear from you!
