Your Role

As the Senior Stockperson you'll be involved in the day-to-day management and handling of cattle, supporting herd performance and breeding programmes while embracing technology such as Halter and virtual fencing. The role also includes general farm maintenance, including fencing, water systems and other day-to-day tasks, so a practical, hands-on approach is important. There is minimal dog work required, so dogs aren't essential, although 1-2 are handy on the hills after calving.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you'll help keep the operation running smoothly while contributing to the ongoing development of the stud. There's plenty of opportunity to build your skills, learn more about genetics and take on additional responsibility over time for someone keen to grow in the role.

What You'll Bring:

* A high level of stockmanship and confident cattle-handling skills in both the paddock and yards.

* An enthusiasm for technology and a willingness to embrace tools such as Halter and other innovative farming systems.

* Strong observation skills and attention to detail, particularly when monitoring animal health traits recording and performance.

* The ability to work independently, use initiative and manage daily tasks with minimal supervision.

* A proactive, practical approach to problem-solving.

* Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

* A strong work ethic, reliability and a genuine passion for farming.

* A willingness to learn, adapt and contribute ideas to improve farm systems and practices.

What's on Offer

* The opportunity to step into a senior role with increased responsibility and the ability to make a real contribution to the operation.

* The chance to work within a well-established Angus cattle stud with a strong focus on genetics and herd performance.

* An inclusive, supportive farming environment where you can continue to develop your skills, expand your knowledge and grow your career.

* A family-owned operation with a positive work culture where people are valued and their contributions recognised.

* The opportunity to work with modern farming technologies and innovative systems, including Halter.

* An exceptional location on the banks of Lake Ohakuri, halfway between Taupo and Rotorua, offering a fantastic rural lifestyle.

* The chance to be part of a close-knit team that values initiative, teamwork and a shared passion for farming.

* Additional work opportunities for your partner through the on-site event venue, accommodation pods and cabins.

* Accommodation is a spacious four-bedroom home with spectacular views, two bathrooms, open-plan living, wood burner, heat pumps, established gardens, carport and garage.
