The farms comprise of 1000 cows and we have a casual relief milking position to cover staff leave etc. The farms have large modern milking facilities with 80 bail rotary platforms and are well equipped for the number of cows milked in them. We are looking for a super star calf rearer to join our team for the 2026 spring calving season. We calve down 750 cows in spring and you will be solely responsible for the calves once they enter the calf sheds. This includes 150 replacements, 50 Bull calves and the rest are bobbies. Previous experience with large scale calf rearing is preferred as this is a full on role with a few steps involved within the replacements. Drive in relief milker required, located near Waianiwa (approx. 20mins from Invercargill, 20mins from Winton). Approx. 3-4 Milking’s a week at this stage. Flexible with days/dates. Approx. 280 cows in older 24 aside herringbone shed. Cups on approx. 7AM & 5PM, but flexible. Cows generally close to shed & fences all set up. Calf Rearer – Casual (Drive-In) Motuiti Farms – Foxton We are seeking a motivated and reliable Calf Rearer to join our team for the coming calving season (July to August / early September). This is a casual, drive-in position, located 5 minutes from Foxton township. About the Farm Motuiti Farms is a well-established, 10-year-old dairy farm with excellent calf-rearing infrastructure, including a 12-bay calf rearing shed located beside the milking shed. Calf Rearer – 2026/2027 Season We’re looking for a reliable and motivated calf rearer for next season, starting around 29 June for approximately 3 months. This role would suit someone with calf rearing experience, however training can be provided for the right person. You’ll need to be confident handling young stock, able to work independently, and happy working outdoors through winter and early spring. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day care of calves. Around 270 calves will go through the sheds over the season, with 60–70 kept as replacements. Being organised, physically fit, and having a good eye for animal health and welfare is important, as you’ll be responsible for the calf shed and routines. We’re open to either one full-time person or two part-time people. Drive-in position. Must be able to drive a Quad bike. We require someone to help calf rearing this Autumn. Starting around the 1st March. We have 500 cows to calve over 6 weeks. We have an automated calf feeding shed. Position involves training new calves and then transitioning them onto the auto feeders. Cleaning and washing down each day. Start 7:30am to approx 10am, varies depending on numbers, and then 2:30 to 5:30ish. Experience preferred but not essential. This is a drive in position. We are 15 minutes from Te Awamutu.
