We are looking for a VOSM/ LOSM for the 26/27 season and beyond. The farm is 86 ha effective milking approx 250 high BW/ high producing cows through a 26a/s HB cowshed with cup removers. The land/ pasture is well established with approx 60 ha of flat/ terraces, 12 ha rolling and 14 ha steep country. The farming operation is run as system 2-3. Grass silage is harvested on farm, maize silage imported and PKE also fed through strategic periods. Farm production has been consistent at +1100 kg MS/ ha and +380 kg MS/ cow. The current VOSM has decided to retire and has been operating the farm for the 9 seasons, we are looking for someone with excellent stock skills and a high level of attention to pasture management - some areas of the farm can be challenging in this regard. The property is located 20 mins southeast of Te Puke (35-40 mins from Tauranga and 40-45 mins from Rotorua). Owners live on farm but not involved in day to day operation but like to be kept informed and involved in farm improvement projects. This is a well proven property with good infrastructure (cowshed, 3 bdr home, new effluent system etc) in a great location in the awesome Bay of Plenty. VOSM rate is very competitive, like to see operator well compensated for good outcomes/ results.
