We are looking for a Unit Manager to join our team on a 840 cow farm, 54 bail Rotary, ACR, in shed feeding and Allflex Cow collars. You will need to be confident in driving a tractor with a silage wagon and mower, have at least 5 years experience, understand pasture management, take pride in your work and have good animal health practices. This role will be directly working with the Sharemilker, with opportunities to progress in the future to full management for the right person. There is an opportunity for a partner to calf rear and relief milk during the season. We offer a 7 on 2 off Roster, Warm 3 bedroom home, a great team environment to work with and competitive salary. We are looking for a farm assistant to work between two adjacent 300 cow herd size farms. The successful applicant would preferably have a farming background who is confident working with dairy animals as well as machinery. They would need to show a high level of initiative and problem solving abilities as sometimes they would be expected to work alone and sometimes sole charge milking a herd of 300 cows through a 28 aside shed as they gain confidence. Our farming operation is seeking an Assistant Manager to work on our dairy farm. We are based at Eureka, Hamilton and have 570 kiwi cross cows on 163 ha. We milk through a 50 aside herringbone shed, run a system 2/3, and are predominately grass based. Our farm is in a desired location only 15mins from Hamilton, 15mins from Morrinsville and 20mins to Cambridge. Our ideal candidate will be a great communicator, be able to work within a team environment, have good milking and tractor skills, good stockmanship and treat animals with respect. We like to operate our farm so that all staff can do all jobs and we don't need to check over work to ensure it has been done correctly. The successful candidate will have completed the New Zealand Certificate in Primary Industry Skills (Agriculture) Level 2 and completed at least 1 year experience in a New Zealand Dairy Farm. Key responsibilities include: • Tractor Work - feeding out, urea application • Setting up fences and breaks • Getting cows and calves, milking cows • Assisting with animal health and identifying cows on heat. • Assisting with calf rearing, managing the herd and assisting with pasture management. We are looking for an honest tidy person to manage/work on our 380-fresain cow farm. There is an opportunity for your partner to do the calf rearing in spring 1 to 2 hrs per morning and casual relief milking. The cowshed is a 30ashb shed. The position for manager is fulltime and comes with a tidy 3-to-4-bedroom house; it has a large stand-alone shed/garage and attached carport to the house. Primary and secondary schools are within 5kms. This farm is a grass-based system. We are looking for an experienced Assistant Farm Manager who’s keen to grow, on a well-run 360-cow, System 5 dairy farm 5 minutes south of Tirau /<5 north of Putaruru. This is a 65/35 split Autumn/Spring-calving farm with an 80 ha support block for heifers and young stock nearby. You will have good stockmanship skills, be able to identify and treat mastitis, identify lameness, and identify any cows when they are unwell. You will be milking twice a day all year, getting cows in, doing basic maintenance jobs such as weed control, effluent irrigation, feeding out, fencing, etcetera. You must be able to ride farm bikes and tractor experience would be an advantage.
