We are looking for a reliable milk harvester for the start of calving to the end of mating (1/8/26 - 31/12/26) to assist the contract milker during the peak season. The opportunity to go onto a casual contract after the fixed term is available to the right person. We are located 5 mins from Eltham and 10 mins from Stratford. We can offer variable hours with a minimum of 30 hours a fortnight at a minimum of $30 per hour. Higher hourly rate can be negotiated on experience. We will be milking 375 Friesian cows at peak through a 44 bail rotary with in shed feed. Key responsibilities include: - Efficiently harvesting milk - Keeping shed clean - Identifying cows with health issues - Handling stock calmly. Prior experience is preferred. We require a reliable and motivated individual to assist for the 2026/27 season on our 94ha rolling dairy farm, milking 230 jersey cross cows through a 22 a side herringbone. With all young stock on farm all season. This will involve assisting others during calving season to bring cows and calves in. Assist with one other at all times to milk cows, and undertake all shed hygiene and cleanup. Identify and treat mastitis and any other health issues arising. There will be a need for operating vehicles eg quads/side by side. With an emphasis on health and safety. Some experience a plus but not essential as training can be provided. Relief Milker / Fixed-Term Farm Assistant Location: Eltham, Taranaki Please note: This is a DRIVE IN role. Please do not apply if you are requiring accommodation. This is a drive-in, live-out position, working alongside the Contract Milker and 2IC. The farm milks approximately 500 MA cows through a 50-bail rotary with an in-shed feeding system and operates as a System 3 farm.
