We are seeking a Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team. Our farm is in North Otago, 25 minutes west of Oamaru. Our owner/operated farm emphasizes animal welfare, pasture management, and sustainable farming practices. Experience is preferred, but we value a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, honesty, and integrity above prior farming experience. Responsibilities: - Milking in a 40-aside herringbone shed equipped with an in-shed feed system - Feeding livestock and performing general stock care - Setting up break fencing - Calf rearing during the appropriate season - Effluent and shed hygiene management - Assisting with various seasonal tasks across the farm Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided, and we support off-farm education such as PrimaryITO. Ideal candidates will: - Be reliable, positive, honest, and open to learning new skills - Work effectively both independently (after training) and as part of a team - Be comfortable handling livestock - Hold a full or restricted NZ driver licence - Currently reside in New Zealand and/or possess a valid NZ work visa - Be able to provide two references, one being your current employer Please note a high level of English proficiency is required. We operate a zero-tolerance policy regarding drug use and don't allow smoking or vaping within homes, sheds, and vehicles. We are after a new farm assistant as our other is moving up to herd manager experience is welcomed but not required the right attitude is a must. We milk 840 cows through a 5 year old 54 bail rotary shed with auto cup removers, teat spray, drafting and wash. All flat ground 2 mins from Dunedin airport. Roster is 8 days on 4 days off all year.

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Manager to lead a team of three staff members. Key requirements for this role include: - Strong leadership and team management skills - Competence with farm machinery - Good computer literacy, including the ability to complete fortnightly reports - Experience using Herd Manager (in-shed drafting system) or similar technology You will work closely with the farm owner, who will provide support through regular farm walks and assist with feed budgeting. Brightview Farms are on the lookout for a Block Manager for our beef and Dairy support blocks. Our farming operation is located in Western Southland, with the Dairy and Drystock/Support blocks located within 5 minutes of the Wairio/Nightcaps area. Our newest support farm is Woodstone Farm, an Agri Tourism business located 5 minutes from Te Anau. The operation consists of four support blocks, 10,000 su support farm (600ha of support blocks and are within a 10 minute radius of the dairy farms. The position will involve farm work, tractor work, with modern machinery (cultivation, sowing of crops, grass renewal) and stock work; breeding and fattening calves, heifers, bulls, sheep and winter grazing of dairy cattle. We are looking for a Unit Manager to join our team on a 840 cow farm, 54 bail Rotary, ACR, in shed feeding and Allflex Cow collars. You will need to be confident in driving a tractor with a silage wagon and mower, have at least 5 years experience, understand pasture management, take pride in your work and have good animal health practices. This role will be directly working with the Sharemilker, with opportunities to progress in the future to full management for the right person. We are looking for an honest tidy person to manage/work on our 380-fresain cow farm. There is an opportunity for your partner to do the calf rearing in spring 1 to 2 hrs per morning and casual relief milking. The cowshed is a 30ashb shed. The position for manager is fulltime and comes with a tidy 3-to-4-bedroom house; it has a large stand-alone shed/garage and attached carport to the house. The farm is run in conjunction with our 600 cow dairy farm at Kauana, Centre Bush. This is an exciting role that offers real variety. We’re passionate about our stock and we’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to best practice stockmanship. We rear 150 replacements for the dairy herd, and 400 beef cross & friesian bull calves through to finishing. We also run a beef herd of 50 spring calving Charolais cows. You’ll have the skills to give our youngstock the best possible start and ensure proactive feed management to achieve target weights for all stock. Strong pasture management skills will be required. You’ll also be responsible for the day to day management of the wintering for the dairy herd and beef stock (including shifting animals on crop) so you must be a team player and enjoy working with stock. The role will also have responsibility for all day to day maintenance on the property, fencing, weed control and general farm maintenance. There is also ongoing development work to be done on part of the farm that has been recently acquired so fencing skills are a necessity. The role also has a requirement to assist with the tractor work on both properties, including cultivation, seeding, mowing, and fertiliser. You’ll need a commitment to healthy and safe work and be capable of maintaining and operating our modern equipment. You need to have high standards and keep our farm, machinery and vehicles in good order. As farm owners we’ll be on farm and hands-on. This means you need to enjoy being part of a team, sharing knowledge and skills. We’ll collaborate with you to determine the work plan and you’ll need to be comfortable taking responsibility for working independently to deliver the outcomes we agree.
