Our farming operation is seeking an Assistant Manager to work on our dairy farm. We are based at Eureka, Hamilton and have 570 kiwi cross cows on 163 ha. We milk through a 50 aside herringbone shed, run a system 2/3, and are predominately grass based. Our farm is in a desired location only 15mins from Hamilton, 15mins from Morrinsville and 20mins to Cambridge. Our ideal candidate will be a great communicator, be able to work within a team environment, have good milking and tractor skills, good stockmanship and treat animals with respect. We like to operate our farm so that all staff can do all jobs and we don't need to check over work to ensure it has been done correctly. The successful candidate will have completed the New Zealand Certificate in Primary Industry Skills (Agriculture) Level 2 and completed at least 1 year experience in a New Zealand Dairy Farm. We are looking for an experienced Assistant Farm Manager who’s keen to grow, on a well-run 360-cow, System 5 dairy farm 5 minutes south of Tirau /<5 north of Putaruru. This is a 65/35 split Autumn/Spring-calving farm with an 80 ha support block for heifers and young stock nearby. There is an opportunity for your partner to do the calf rearing in spring 1 to 2 hrs per morning and casual relief milking. The cowshed is a 30ashb shed. The position for manager is fulltime and comes with a tidy 3-to-4-bedroom house; it has a large stand-alone shed/garage and attached carport to the house. Primary and secondary schools are within 5kms. This farm is a grass-based system. **Position Overview** We are seeking 2-3 Dairy Farm Assistants to join our team commencing 1 June 2026. These positions are based near Te Kuiti in the Waikato region. The role is primarily located on our main dairy farm, however you may be required to assist at our run-off block as needed. This is a permanent, full-time position milking 950-cows (50-bail rotary, milked twice daily, System 2).
