Cows are milked twice daily year-round through an 18-aside herringbone shed. The farm operates as a System 3 with in-shed feeding throughout the year and baleage fed during the shoulder seasons. Plantain is grown to support summer milk production and achieve farm environmental targets. Datamars ear tags are used to support heat detection during mating. The effective milking platform is currently 81 hectares predominantly flat to rolling contour with a small amount of steeper terrain. The farm is part of a multi-farm business including two similar-sized dairy units and a drystock/support block. **About the role:** We are seeking a motivated person to fill the 2IC position and take an active role in the day-to-day management of the farm. You will be involved in all aspects of the dairy farm, including: - Sole charge milking - Pasture management and feed allocation - Animal health - Calf rearing - Effluent management - Weed control - General farm maintenance and management You will report directly to the farm owner who is on hand to provide support when required. There is also an existing farm assistant who supports the 2IC across both farms.
