About us and our farm… We our a couple who have in the dairy industry for the past 10 years, we share milk our beautiful 500 kiwi cross breed cows on a 190ha farm, through a 55 bail rotary shed, equipped with a Protrack drafting system, automatic teat sprayer, automatic cup removers, and auto wash system. We are also putting halter on for our next season which we are really excited about! We milk our cows OAD year round.(Cups on is 6am)We encourage a good work to life balance and care about our staff’s wellbeing. We are looking for a Unit Manager to join our team on a 840 cow farm, 54 bail Rotary, ACR, in shed feeding and Allflex Cow collars. You will need to be confident in driving a tractor with a silage wagon and mower, have at least 5 years experience, understand pasture management, take pride in your work and have good animal health practices. This role will be directly working with the Sharemilker, with opportunities to progress in the future to full management for the right person. There is an opportunity for a partner to calf rear and relief milk during the season. We offer a 7 on 2 off Roster, Warm 3 bedroom home, a great team environment to work with and competitive salary. We are looking for an honest tidy person to manage/work on our 380-fresain cow farm. There is an opportunity for your partner to do the calf rearing in spring 1 to 2 hrs per morning and casual relief milking. The cowshed is a 30ashb shed. The position for manager is fulltime and comes with a tidy 3-to-4-bedroom house; it has a large stand-alone shed/garage and attached carport to the house. Primary and secondary schools are within 5kms. This farm is a grass-based system. The manager's position will consist of all record keeping that is required for Minda and Fonterra, also staff timesheet records. Pasture management, the daily running of the farm and upkeep is key. You will be working closely at times with another of our farms nearby, 2km up the road. Not very often, but when needed to work in with a team environment.

We are seeking an experienced farm worker (2+ years) to work as a Herd Manager on a 1000-cow operation in the Ranfurly area, milking through a 50 Rotary Bale shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking and monitoring milk quality, - Training junior staff, - Stock handling and feeding (feed management), - Fencing, weed control, - Calving, calf rearing, - Shed maintenance & preparation, - Tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage monitoring, - Recording and maintaining animal health, - Other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 50. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid at the agreed overtime rate. The schedule may vary; Roster will be 11 days on, 3 days off. Salary is between $80,000 - $88,000 per annum, subject to experience. Candidates must have previous dairy farming experience and are required to provide good related references. The farm is run in conjunction with our 600 cow dairy farm at Kauana, Centre Bush. This is an exciting role that offers real variety. We rear 150 replacements for the dairy herd, and 400 beef cross & friesian bull calves through to finishing. We also run a beef herd of 50 spring calving Charolais cows. You’ll have the skills to give our youngstock the best possible start and ensure proactive feed management to achieve target weights for all stock. Strong pasture management skills will be required. You’ll also be responsible for the day to day management of the wintering for the dairy herd and beef stock (including shifting animals on crop) so you must be a team player and enjoy working with stock. The role will also have responsibility for all day to day maintenance on the property, fencing, weed control and general farm maintenance. There is also ongoing development work to be done on part of the farm that has been recently acquired so fencing skills are a necessity. The role also has a requirement to assist with the tractor work on both properties, including cultivation, seeding, mowing, and fertiliser. You’ll need a commitment to healthy and safe work and be capable of maintaining and operating our modern equipment. You need to have high standards and keep our farm, machinery and vehicles in good order. As farm owners we’ll be on farm and hands-on. We are looking for a Farm Manager to join our team in the Mayfield/Carew Area for the upcoming Dairy Season. The Manager will be responsible for the daily operation of the shed and running of the 600 cow farm. The farm is fully spray irrigated with a 40 ASHB Shed with in-shed feeding and Protrak. It is important that the Manager is able to work with us to meet the farms targets while making sure that it is a positive and enjoyable environment for all staff. You need to have excellent communication skills and be able to lead the team confidently while being an active team member. We are looking for someone that has an eye for detail, proven stockmanship and be able to feed the cows efficiently to get optimal production. Must be able to embrace technology as we have Halter on the milking platform and winter grazing block. It is important that you are able to keep all required records for the farming operation.
