Due to our current Farm management people heading to new opportunities, we are looking for a capable person with experience in the dairy industry to help manage our 1100 cow Dairy Farm at Ngapara North Otago. This position would involve running the day to day system on the dairy farm, grass, cows, staff. 900 cows calved in spring and 200 in autumn. Milk all year round. We milk all year and have acquired a feed pad to do this. We will winter cows on farm and we have an adjacent runoff where we run all our young stock. We have a 320ha platform that is irrigated via spray irrigation (Pivots, Fixed Grid, Kline). Cows are milked through a 60 bail Waikato Rotary cowshed. Its equipped with cup removers, Protrack and inshed feeding. We have used Allflex collars on our cows for 9 seasons and are looking into other options of wearables currently. The successful applicant would run the day to day management of the dairy platform. Cows, Grass, feeding, people and harvesting the milk in an efficient way. We would offer support through the farm owner and current manager working alongside the applicant to find their feet and to learn our system. Dairy Farm Manager for 360Cow dairy operation located Pahiatua NZ. The farm is 126 hectares effective with an adjacent 52 hectare runoff. The role has responsibility over both blocks. 360 cows are peak milked with R1 and R2 year hfrs grazed on the adjacent runoff. 2026 Season 170,000kgMS target 2025 Season 161,500kgMS Target 2027 is 170,000kgMS The role will require the following: - Great Stockmanship and the ability to feed cows well. These cows are doing close to 500kgMS/cow - The desire to grow out young stock well. Young stock are grazed at the runoff and the responsibility of the Farm Manager. - Good understanding of Animal Health and experience with diagnosis and treatment of common Cow challenges. - A sound understanding of cowshed management including plant hygiene/ food safety standards. - Strong pasture management skills - willing to plate farm fortnightly. - Ability to lead and communicate well with staff - 2Ic and relief staff - A willingness to communicate actively with the farm owners and a willingness to be coached by farm owners. - Sound understanding of technology - use of Minda/Fonterra Dairy Diary/Resolution. - Willingness to capture data to support good decision making.
