We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Manager to lead a team of three staff members. Our operation is an 800-cow autumn calving farm, equipped with a herd home, mixer wagon, and a 60-bail rotary shed with ACRs and in-shed drafting technology. We operate a 6-on, 2-off roster for six months of the year, and a 9-on, 3-off roster for the remaining six months. Key requirements for this role include: - Strong leadership and team management skills - Competence with farm machinery - Good computer literacy, including the ability to complete fortnightly reports - Experience using Herd Manager (in-shed drafting system) or similar technology You will work closely with the farm owner, who will provide support through regular farm walks and assist with feed budgeting. This role will be directly working with the Sharemilker, with opportunities to progress in the future to full management for the right person. We are looking for an honest tidy person to manage/work on our 380-fresain cow farm. There is an opportunity for your partner to do the calf rearing in spring 1 to 2 hrs per morning and casual relief milking. The cowshed is a 30ashb shed. The position for manager is fulltime and comes with a tidy 3-to-4-bedroom house; it has a large stand-alone shed/garage and attached carport to the house. Primary and secondary schools are within 5kms. This farm is a grass-based system. The role will also have responsibility for all day to day maintenance on the property, fencing, weed control and general farm maintenance. There is also ongoing development work to be done on part of the farm that has been recently acquired so fencing skills are a necessity. The role also has a requirement to assist with the tractor work on both properties, including cultivation, seeding, mowing, and fertiliser. You’ll need a commitment to healthy and safe work and be capable of maintaining and operating our modern equipment. You need to have high standards and keep our farm, machinery and vehicles in good order. As farm owners we’ll be on farm and hands-on.
