**DAIRY FARM ASSISTANT** - **Milking:** Assists in efficient and hygienic milking routine. Follows procedure to produce high quality milk. Carries out simple milk harvesting tasks as directed and is developing correct skills to milk. - **Animals:** Assists in safe handling of animals, reports any health and welfare issues as per farm policy. Assists with moving and handling animals safely, and observes and reports on wellbeing of all classes of stock. - **Feed:** Controls weeds. Sets break fences and feeds out as directed. Assists with pasture and crop weed control and is learning about feed allocations and health issues associated with crops. - **Machine, vehicles and technology:** Safely uses and maintains vehicles on farm as directed by on farm policy. - **People:** Works well with others, building a strong team culture. Is aware of the opportunities available to them in their personal and career goals and is beginning to look for opportunities to move to the next level in their career. - **Health, safety and wellbeing:** Involved in building a health, safety and wellbeing culture. Models' farms H, S & W policy. **Requirements:** - You must have a clear criminal record. - Pre-employment and random drug testing. - You must be drug free. - No pets on farm. - You must live on farm due to the requirements of the job. - No smoking or vaping on farm. **Work Details:** - Minimum 30 hours/week will be provided. - Average Hours Per week: 40. - Roster: Single rotation - 8 Days on / 2 days Off. - Accommodation available: Shared accommodation. - Remuneration: $58,000-$62,000 yearly.

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Manager to lead a team of three staff members. This role requires someone with strong time management skills, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine passion for livestock and farming operations. Our newest support farm is Woodstone Farm, an Agri Tourism business located 5 minutes from Te Anau. The operation consists of four support blocks, 10,000 su support farm (600ha of support blocks and are within a 10 minute radius of the dairy farms. The position will involve farm work, tractor work, with modern machinery (cultivation, sowing of crops, grass renewal) and stock work; breeding and fattening calves, heifers, bulls, sheep and winter grazing of dairy cattle. You will need to be confident in driving a tractor with a silage wagon and mower, have at least 5 years experience, understand pasture management, take pride in your work and have good animal health practices. This role will be directly working with the Sharemilker, with opportunities to progress in the future to full management for the right person. We have a job for a New Zealand Assistant Farm Manager (2IC) position on a farm in the Bay of Plenty area. This is for a 440 cows farm, 15 minutes from Rotorua, milking through an automatic cup remover rotary shed. You'll have a range of responsibilities including the day-to-day management support including: - Milking - Shed Management - Animal Husbandry and Production - Animal Health Monitoring, Management and Treatment - Pasture and fodder Management - Maintenance of Shed, Equipment and Machinery - Know and meet regulatory rules & requirements - Mating, Calving and Calf rearing Management - and other general farm duties Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 55 for the salary. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, should you work beyond the agreed maximum hours in a fortnightly pay period, you will be paid the agreed overtime hourly rate for any hours beyond the maximum hours. The schedule may vary but generally work hours are between 4am and go through 5pm with meal and rest breaks. Candidates must have previous dairy farming experience and are required to provide good, related references. Due to our long-serving 2IC of six years moving on at the end of the season, we are seeking a new person to take up the role starting 1 June 2026. **About the farm:** This well-run 250 cow dairy farm is located in Mihi, Reporoa, and produces approximately 100,000 kg MS/yr. Cows are milked twice daily year-round through an 18-aside herringbone shed. The farm operates as a System 3 with in-shed feeding throughout the year and baleage fed during the shoulder seasons. Plantain is grown to support summer milk production and achieve farm environmental targets. Datamars ear tags are used to support heat detection during mating. The effective milking platform is currently 81 hectares predominantly flat to rolling contour with a small amount of steeper terrain. The farm is part of a multi-farm business including two similar-sized dairy units and a drystock/support block. **About the role:** We are seeking a motivated person to fill the 2IC position and take an active role in the day-to-day management of the farm. You will be involved in all aspects of the dairy farm, including: - Sole charge milking - Pasture management and feed allocation - Animal health - Calf rearing - Effluent management - Weed control - General farm maintenance and management You will report directly to the farm owner who is on hand to provide support when required. There is also an existing farm assistant who supports the 2IC across both farms. We are looking for an honest tidy person to manage/work on our 380-fresain cow farm. There is an opportunity for your partner to do the calf rearing in spring 1 to 2 hrs per morning and casual relief milking. The cowshed is a 30ashb shed. The position for manager is fulltime and comes with a tidy 3-to-4-bedroom house; it has a large stand-alone shed/garage and attached carport to the house.
