We are looking for someone who has passion for farming and hard-working to join our team based in Mangakino, 50 minutes from Rotorua. You will be working with a great team with lot of experience. We milk 860 cows through a 44 bale Rotary shed on milking platform of 297 hectares of rolling to steep farmland with 175 hectares of drystock. Your role includes but not limited to: milking cows efficiently, animal health and fencing and other general farm maintenance, understanding the environment and regulations around effluent, feeding to the stock and weed control, assisting with calving and keeping the farm tidy and record keeping. Applicants must be able to operate both 2 and 4 - wheel bikes and be able to follow on farm safety policies. You must perform good health, safety and wellbeing on farm, record accidents and identify farm hazards. You are Guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours/week roster 11 days on and 3 off. Accommodation is available on farm in share with other staff member and strictly no pets allowed. You must have a full drivers license. Pre employment and random drug testing will be conducted. If employed, you must be drug free, alcohol free and smoke free at all times within the work area.

We are on the hunt for a capable and experienced contract milker for our 154ha (141ha effective) dairy farm near Arapuni. 34 ASHB shed with meal feeders and 500 cow feedpad. We have a predominantly autumn calving crossbred herd, with calving starting early Feb, with a small (roughly 40 cow) spring calving component in September. Production is 240,000KgMS, supplying OFI. Cows are fed year round inshed and feedpad is in use for roughly half the year. We run a simple feeding system with maize, grass silage and PK. A farm consultant is employed by us with roughly 6 weekly visits. Applicants must have good pasture management and animal health skills and be capable of the day to day running of a mixed contour farm, including effluent management. Prefer experience with higher input herds and employing of staff. Must have recent references and preferably a NZ citizen or have relevant visas. They will need 2 full time labour units plus themselves. Other costs include bikes, shed expenses and power. Inshed feeding consists of barley and molasses - our milking platform consists of 420ha surrounded by 284ha of natives etc. Duties would consist of but not limited to: milking, weed control, tractor work, general farm maintenance. Applicants need to be able to work and are based in NZ - WE ARE NOT ACCREDITED EMPLOYERS AND ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO GET INVOLVED IN THE IMMIGRATION PROCESS.
